Abstract

This article examines the legal drafting produced by AI using as an example the
development of a definition for domestic violence. Domestic violence is a deeply human problem, and the use of AI allows us to uncover categories and links in behaviour. The AI drafting itself is still inferior to the human process. Still, the quality of work at the ideation stage is likely to contribute to the purely human ideation process. In this first match between the Australian Law Council and ChatGPT, the Australian Law Council won, but the research and development of AI continues to improve both the prompts and AI applications for the legislative counsel of today and tomorrow.
