Abstract
This report provides an assessment of the demographic projections produced by the New South Wales Department of Education’s Demography Unit. It:
* provides a conceptual assessment of projection methods currently employed,
* comments on current documentation on the projections,
* remarks on the general planning environment of the projections,
*suggests guidelines for the pre-release evaluation of draft projections, and
* makes recommendations for further work to support the Department’s projections work.
