Abstract

The title compound, 2CH6N3+·C6H2N2O42-·3H 2O, forms a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded framework structure involving all six protons of the guanidinium cation as donors to the carboxylate O and hetero N atoms of the anions, as well as to the water molecules of solvation. The anions and one of the water molecules lie on crystallographic twofold rotational axes.
