Abstract
The Aug 1997 elections returned the Country-Liberal Party (CLP) to the Northern Territory's Legislative Assembly with an increased majority of representatives. This is the eighth consecutive year the CLP has captured victory. The incumbency factor contributed somewhat to the outcome, but more so the new boundaries of the electorates.
