    Abstract

Dispersion coefficients involving the 5s 2 1 S e and 5s5p 1,3P o states of strontium are determined from a large basis configuration interaction calculation. Dispersion coefficients are presented for the strontium dimer and also for strontium interactions with hydrogen and the rare gases. Polarizabilities and oscillator strengths from some low lying states are also given. The ground state polarizability and that of the 5s5p 1P o and 5s4d 1D e states are very similar in size.
