Food Security in Wudikapildyerr Report 2024

This Report is a collaboration between the authors (Darryl Cronin and Susan Bird) and the remote Aboriginal community of Wudikapildyerr. It is about the issue of food security. The Report is based on a series of focus group interviews conducted with community leaders in 2023. The Report is the result of a request by the community, who were concerned about how to address food insecurity in their community, particularly during emergencies such as wet season flooding. This Report seeks to convey the community’s story, as well as their ideas for how the issues can be addressed. The authors, including the Wudikapildiyerr community, and Yantjarrwu Outstation Resource Centre Aboriginal Corporation, hope this Report may lead to a more food-secure future.
