Free, quasifree, momentarily trapped, and self-trapped exciton states in molecular crystals

    Abstract

    It is shown that the self-trapped, quasifree, and momentarily trapped exciton states observed in crystals are forms of composite exciton-phonon states which arise due to nonzero exciton-phonon interaction. For anthracene crystals, the present results agree very well with experiments.
