Abstract
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) updates (2012) show that even with the continuous development of new medicines and treatments over the last 30 years, cardiovascular disease (CVD) accounts for 33% of all deaths, illness and disability in Australia (46,000 Australians in 2009).
