    Abstract

A new multiple-tap microwave photonic signal processing structure that can realize a flat passband and large free spectral range notch filter response is presented. It is based on a polarization modulator followed by a length of polarization maintaining fiber and an unbalanced Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Experimental results are presented that verify the new concept.
