Abstract
This paper argues the problem of modernity give the impact in nations. The construction of the nation-state of Indonesian from the beginning has been ignoring the different value and cultural minority groups. It is actually has backdrop from historical pattern of modern European. Nationalism is the process of making Indonesian. This process is a contestation of people. The dominant ethnic, Javanese aristrocate got awareness from the dialectical
interaction with the Dutch scholars in Netherlands in nationalism. After the contestation among ethnic and religion, Indonesia got its independency with Pancasila as the ideology. Under the Soekarno regime, Indies archipelago become unity in the name of Indonesia at the first time due to engaged into the Westphalia world system. The Bandung Conference was the expression of Pancasila in order to independently stand beyond the West and the East
ideological disputes called as the Third World and declare the anti-colonialism. Under the Soeharto regime, Indonesia got closer into capitalism world system while Pancasila was the sole ideology that should be the foundation of Indonesian citizen. Additionally, ASEAN became the best vehicle for Indonesia to stabilize the Southeast Asia region and its market. Under Reformasi era, Indonesia is facing liberation from the Soeharto authoritarian regime. In

In a light of this point, Pancasila principle has not being yet achieved as well as Bandung Conference spirit.
