    Abstract

    The 3rd Australian Health & Medical Research Congress was held at the Melbourne Convention Centre in November/December 2006. From this meeting, research focusing on new targets and new drugs is highlighted. These highlights are from research into cancer, bone, myeloproliferative disorders, the central nervous system, insulin resistance/diabetes, cardiovascular disease, preterm birth, crypteins, the pharmacology of metals/chelators and inflammatory conditions/immunological therapy.
