Abstract
Efficient and effective feature extraction algorithms are required in the analysis of long records electrocardiographic (ECG) signals. In this paper a computationally efficient method is proposed as a feature extractor for P waves in ECG signals. The performance of the proposed algorithm was tested on 29 records of the MITIBIH Arrhythmia Database resulting in 0.72% incorrectly detected P waves.
