    Abstract

    RESEARCH AIM
To explore population projections for the NorthernTerritory This research brief discusses the importance of population projections for the Northern Territory, why they are so difficult to construct, and why they turn out to be inaccurate. We examine the existing range of projections and briefly discuss the model developed specifically for the Territory (the NTPOP) as part of a research collaboration between the Northern Territory Treasury and the Population and Tourism Studies Group at CDU.
