his document has been prepared in conjunction with the workshop on Web-Based Language Documentation and Description, held in Philadelphia on 12-15 December 2000. It lists the requirements on language archiving infrastructure that informed the design of the proposed Open Language Archives Community. It also explains how each of the requirements is addressed by the resulting OLAC design.
