Abstract
Sharon’s quest for a successful career in music has taken many twists and turns, some planned, some totally unexpected. Along the way her passion for teaching, her talent for music and her ability to succeed have been tested to the full. She has had to create her own portfolio, and has grasped opportunities as they became available throughout Australia and overseas, across social and organisational cultures. She has known the shock of discovering that her hard-won music practice was not going to sustain her academic ambitions, having to turn her back on this highly successful practice and take a leap into the unknown.
