Abstract

“Societal Orientation” of non-profit organizations during situations of shrinking resource base is assessed in this paper, with reference to the appropriateness of “retrenchment or cost containment strategy.” One aspect of the examination procedure of universities from Australia and New Zealand is assessed for effective resource management.
