    Abstract

The aim of this paper is to take the issue of violence in Indigenous communities and demonstrate the contestation in speaking positions. Within the debates on violence, some voices are heard while the majority, which happen to be those of Indigenous women--who in most cases are the victims of the violence--are habitually silenced.
