Abstract
This research introduces the results of a study which was conducted on geographically distributed groups of students (54 groups of 3-4 students each in three different subjects) working on their term project development in order to find out whether their distant interaction in developing their term projects has resulted in the capture and transformation of their tacit knowledge. The analysis is based on a questionnaire (see section 6.4) which was administered to the students at the end of the semester in order to find out whether the VIPGSS helped members in the groups in the capture and transfer of their tacit knowledge. The 4 Cs platforms (Sarker 2006), capability, credibility, culture, and extent of communication, were used as the research method. The results of the study demonstrated the effectiveness of the VIPGSS as a tool for capturing and transforming tacit knowledge among members of the groups.
