Abstract
This film was made to highlight the problem of managing construction waste in remote communities. The film was funded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR) project grant.
Construction and demolition waste forms a considerable proportion of waste in remote communities. These communities have limited income from rates, limited waste infrastructure and restricted access to recycling markets. Further vast distances and poor road conditions between communities and towns curb opportunities for removing and transporting recyclables to appropriate facilities. The video aims to highlight some of these challenges and is directed towards contractors working in remote regions to help in managing construction waste in remote regions.
