Construction management for the Charles Darwin University Indonesian garden project

Abstract

The Indonesian Garden Project was born out of a need to rejuvenate the courtyard area behind the Charles Darwin University School of Music. The purpose of this thesis is to provide project management functions for the planning and development stages of this endeavor. Research into the different elements of an Indonesian garden and how these can be adapted to the CDU garden is an essential part of this dissertation. A definition of project requirements, construction schedule and cost estimate comprise the key deliverables from the project manager. Sourcing from other areas of the University, a garden design incorporating the defined specifications is to be proposed to the client.
