It brings many benefits with few negative effects. The availability of a well developed telecommunications infrastructure offering quality services atreasonable prices is a key requisite for economic development. The case for deregulation is based on the realisation that communication sector is a vital engine of development and economic growth in other sectors of Indian economy. A limitation on growth in many country has been the lack of capital. Byencouraging competition and opening up for private ownership, telecommunication operation become attractive business opportunities for capital investors.
